1977年創業、マタンザス・クリークはカリフォルニア、ソノマ・カウンティの人里離れた美しい土地、ベネット・ヴァレーにワイナリーを構えています。

ワイナリーはワールドクラスのソーヴィニヨン・ブランとメルロを生産しており、これらの品種はソノマの温暖な気候でそのポテンシャルを発揮します。さらに少量生産のシャルドネ、ピノ・ノワールとボルドースタイルの赤も手掛けています。ベネット・ヴァレーの冷涼なAVAの中に点在している畑はサステイナブルな農法で営まれます。ワインは細心の注意を払って造られており、美しいバランスを持ち、テロワールの個性が現れています。

マタンザス・クリークは美しく魅力的なワインです。ワイナリーの創設者サンドラ・マクルヴァーは1991年には、2エーカーに広がりラベンダーを植えはじめ、閑静で色鮮やかな甘やかな花の香りが広がる庭をワイナリーに拓きました。ラベンダー園はそれ以来ワイナリーのシンボルとなり世界中から観光客が訪れています。

Founded in 1977, Matanzas Creek sits in the remote, breathtakingly beautiful Bennett Valley region of Sonoma County, California.

The estate has built its reputation on world-class Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot – two varietals that thrive in Sonoma’s temperate climate. It also produces limited quantities of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Bordeaux-style reds. All of the fruit comes from sustainably-farmed, estate vineyards scattered throughout the mild interior and cool coastal AVAs of the county. The wines are meticulously crafted, beautifully balanced and site-expressive.

Matanzas Creek is an enchanting wine-country destination. In 1991, the winery’s founder, Sandra McIver, planted two acres of lavender, creating a serene, colourful, and fragrant garden on the winery’s picturesque grounds. The lavender gardens have since become the winery’s trademark, and visitors come from around the world to see them.
