This wine has rich, luxuriant aromas of honeysuckle and ample wood spice followed by forward yet elegant flavors that are impressively concentrated. It is a nicely complex, powerful, and elegant wine: lovely and round, with a silky but intense palate impression, this is truly great wine and one of the greatest white wines in the world.
It will reach its peak after 6 to 12 years.

ドメーヌ・テナールは1842年ポール・テナールにより、ジヴリーに長くそのルーツを持つイヴォン家との結婚を機に創立されました。所有する畑の総面積は21.5ヘクタール。7.9ヘクタール(ピュリニー側：4ヘクタール、シャサーニュ側：3.9ヘクタール)のモンラシェの総面積の内、シャサーニュ側に2ブロックに渡り1.83ヘクタールという広い畑を所有しています。これはジェセフ・ドルーアンに次ぐ2番目の広さを誇ります。
Domaine Thenard was founded to mark the occasion of marriage of Paul Thenard into the Yvon family, a family with a long history in Givry. The domaine comprises a total area of 21.5 hectares, gathering 10 different appellations. They also own 2 blocks in the 7.9 hectares (4 hectares on the Puligny side and 3.9 on the Chassagne side) Montrachet vineyard on the Chassage side, which extends over 1.83 hectares. The first parcels of Givry were bought in 1760 and the Montrachet plot was bought in 1872.
The current storehouse representative is Jean-Baptiste Bordeaux Montrieux and his son. Born in Chalon sur Saone in 1959, Jean-Baptiste studied agriculture and winemaking, then worked at Domaine Thenard while working as General Manager of Remoissenet P&F from 1987 to 2005.

シャルドネは世界で最も有名な白ブドウ品種といっても過言でななく、世界中で栽培されています。その栽培の容易さからオーストラリア、カリフォルニア、イタリアなど世界各地にシャルドネの産地はありますが、本場ブルゴーニュの高いクオリティやフィネスは、多くの生産者がシャルドネの理想のスタイルとして追い求めています。
シャルドネの味わいの特徴は、栽培されている産地によって顕著に変化します。カリフォルニアやオーストラリアのような温暖な気候では、メロン、パイナップルやマンゴーなどトロピカルフルーツのアロマが感じられる一方、ブルゴーニュなどの冷涼産地ではレモンやライムなどの柑橘類に青りんご、白桃のような香りが出てきます。
