The 2015 Esprit de Tablas has an inviting nose of warm berry compote, given complexity by sun-drenched bay leaf and newly turned earth: Mourvedre at its most appealing. The mouth is lush and dense, with big but refined tannins, and flavors of licorice, blackberry, and cedar. Mourvedre's characteristic meatiness is in the background at this point, but just waiting for a few years in bottle to emerge. Alternatingly bright and deep on the finish, with lingering flavors of wood smoke, plum skin and spice.

タブラス・クリークはファミーユ・ぺラン（シャトー・ド・ボーカステル）と、そのアメリカの輸入代理店ロバート・ハース（ヴィンヤード・ブランズ）とのジョイントベンチャーとして始まりました。温暖な気候とミネラル分を含んだ土壌を持つパソ・ロブレスにはカリフォルニアのボーカステルと呼ぶにふさわしいテロワールがあり、南ローヌの品種を有機農法によって栽培しています。天然酵母による発酵やシャトー・ド・ボーカステルで培われたブレンド法によって、ワインの芳醇さや素晴らしさを存分に引き出しています。
Tablas Creek is the realization of the combined efforts of the Perrin Family, proprietors of Chateau Beaucastel, and Robert Haas, founder of American import company Vintage Brands.
At Tablas Creek, exactly the same varietals are grown as those that are used in the making of Beaucastel; the grapes are the same as Beaucastel and they are grown using the same organic method. This wine expresses the utilization of the temperate climate, the terroir with its minerality, and the characteristics of the grapes themselves.
Tablas Creek Vineyard follows the centuries old Chateauneuf-du-Pape tradition of blending chosen varietals, which produces wines that are more complex and elegant, better balanced, richer, and deeper than single varietal wines. Blending, estate terroir, and the use of native yeasts give Tablas Creek Vineyard a unique style that places it among the best vineyards on the world stage.
Grenache
グルナッシュ
グルナッシュはフランスやスペインの地中海沿いに主に栽培されている黒ブドウ品種。オーストラリアやアメリカでも栽培されています。地域によって呼び名が異なり、フランスではグルナッシュ、スペインではガルナッチャ、イタリアのサルディーニャ島ではカンノナウとも呼ばれています。果皮が薄く、成熟に時間がかかる品種で、酸やタンニンは控えめ。風や乾燥に強く、地中海やカリフォルニア、オーストラリアなどの乾燥する地域で重宝されています。できるワインはアルコール度数が15％を超えるフルボディ。南部ローヌではシラーやムールヴェードルとブレンドしてバランスをとるGSMと呼ばれるブレンドが一般的です。
