赤とより濃い肉厚な果実のバランスが良く、ザクロ、ブラックベリー、さくらんぼの種、ローズピップ、紅茶と共に芳ばしいスパイスやチョークのようなミネラルの特徴が表れます。ミディアムボディでエレガントなタンニンを持ち合わせる熟成可能なワインです。

醸造：約20％全房で開放槽にて約70％天然酵母にて発酵。2週間スキンコンタクトを行い、毎日2〜3回パンチングダウン。圧搾後フレンチオークで11ヶ月熟成。
The Estate Pinot Noir does a tense balancing act between red-tones and darker, fleshier fruits. One can pick out aromas such as pomegranate, blackberry, cherry pit, rose hip and black teas, as well as baking spices and chalk-like, mineral notes. At its core, it is focused with great verve
and ageability. It shows medium weight with an elegant tannin structure.

カリフォルニアで最も古くからワイン生産を続けているエデン・リフトは1849年にフランスのワイン商、テオフィル・ヴァッシュにより設立されました。ガビラン・マウンテン・レンジにより太平洋から守られたサン・アンドレアス断層にワイナリーは位置し、石灰岩、花崗岩、ドロマイトが含まれるミネラル豊富な土壌でピノ・ノワールやシャルドネ、1901年植樹の歴史的な株仕立てのジンファンデルなどが栽培されています。現在、カリフォルニア育ちで生粋のワイン愛好家であるクリスチャン・ピルズバリーがワイナリーを所有しており、醸造は近隣ワイナリーのカレラで経験を積んだコーリー・ウォーラーが務めています。
Eden Rift is one of the oldest continually operating estates in the US and is home to some of the earliest New World Pinot Noir plantings in 1861. The property’s first vineyards were planted in 1849 by a Bordeaux wine merchant.
Today, the current proprietor of the estate, Christian Pillsbury, lives in the Dickinson House, a residence on the property fenced in by original Zinfandel plantings from 1906. Drawn to purchase the estate because of a personal connection, Pillsbury sees himself as chaperone of a place deeply important to the lineage of California wine. Before purchasing, Christian and his team researched the property’s daily temperature rhythms, soil, wind patterns, and macro and microclimates to find the winery’s main focus, which has come to be Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. In addition to wine, the Eden Rift Estate also houses a granite stone mill that produces certified organic olive oil and is open to neighboring wineries for use on their own olive oil production.
