15kg容量の容器で手摘み収穫された後、除梗の前後に2度の選果を経て、優しく破砕。発酵はコンクリートタンクで行われ、一部の畑は樽で25〜30℃の温度で行われました。マセラシオンの期間は21日から28日。マロラクティック発酵は、100％新樽のバリック樽で開始し、12ヶ月の熟成の間、様々なロットに別々に熟成されました。その後ワインはブレンドされ、もう一度樽に戻されさらに1年間、合計24ヶ月間熟成されました。例年通り、マッセート2018はさらに12ヶ月の瓶内熟成を経て、市場にリリースされています。

Masseto 2018は、そのユニークなテロワールとヴィンテージを完璧に表現したワインです。濃い色調で、表情豊かな完熟したチェリー、プラム、スパイシーな新樽の香り。味わいも、このワインに期待されるようなリッチで表情豊かなものですが、2018年らしい洗練されたシルキーな質感も同時に示しています。余韻は長大で、タンニンのグリップが余韻を引き締めます。歴代のマッセートの中でも豊かさとエレガンスを兼ね備えています。

1981年に、アンティノリ家のマルケーゼ・ロドヴィーコ・アンティノリによって設立されたオルネライアは、イタリアのいわゆるスーパータスカンの赤ワインのリーディングプロデューサーの一つとして、その名声が知れ渡っています。オルネライアの所有する畑は、リヴィルノ地方のボルゲリの中心部、地中海のすぐ近くに位置しています。畑には、カベルネ・フラン、カベルネ・ソーヴィニヨン、プティ・ヴェルドにメルロが植えられています。海洋性の気候に火山性の沖積土壌という独特のテロワールを持っており、これらのボルドー品種に相応しい条件がそろっています。畑はオーガニックな方法で育てられており、土壌の健康に気を使って栽培を行っており、サステイナビリティーが最重要事項です。

Established in 1981 by Marchese Lodovico Antinori of the illustrious Antinori family, Ornellaia is one of Italy’s leading estates, best known for its iconic, eponymous Super-Tuscan red blend.
Ornellaia’s extensive parcels of vineyards are nestled in the heart of the Bolgheri wine region in the province of Livorno, just a few miles from the Mediterranean coast. The vineyards are planted with Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Merlot. The estate’s unique terroir - the maritime climate combined with a blend of alluvial and volcanic soil deposits - is perfectly suited to these French grape varietals. The vineyards are all farmed organically, and a program of increasing soil health is in place. Sustainability is of utmost importance.
Ornellaia became an instant sensation with its very first vintage in 1985, and shot to international fame in 1998 when Decanter magazine named it ‘Wine of the Year.’ Today owned by the the Frescobaldi family, the focus on excellence that has shaped Ornellaia since the beginning remains unwavering. Combining tradition and innovation, the wines of Ornellaia are opulent and sensual, expressing Bordeaux style with a true Bolgheri influence.
